Sherwani for men

A sherwani for men begins with silhouette, not surface work.

Most online sherwani pages begin with colour and embroidery. Fit fails earlier: shoulder line, chest ease, armhole, posture, length, and trouser relationship determine whether the garment looks intentional.

Start with silhouette

A sherwani should create a clean shoulder, close through the upper chest without pulling, and fall vertically through the body. The correct length depends on height, proportion, event formality, and trouser choice.

Match fabric to climate and structure

Raw silk and blended structured fabrics can support a clean formal line. Velvet adds weight and depth for cooler events. Lighter cloth needs disciplined interfacing so it does not collapse around the placket and collar.

Use surface work to control emphasis

Embroidery can frame the face, extend the vertical line, or add weight at the shoulder. More work is not automatically more premium. Placement, density, material, and finishing determine whether it reads as coherent.

Measure for this garment

Do not submit generic body measurements without garment context. Record the shirt or tee worn while measuring, the desired fit, posture notes, body changes expected before the wedding, and a well-fitting reference garment when available.

Order backwards from the wedding

Allow 8–10 weeks for a managed made-to-measure process. Lock the specification before material commitment, review all measurement flags, and keep recovery time between delivery and the event.
